Teaching

Teaching has always been most enjoyable to me. I believe most people who know me will attest that I jump to every opportunity to pass on some of what I have learned.

During high-school times I used to tutor mathematics and Latin. At Hannover University I took a job as teaching assistant for the introductory math courses for physicists. At Purdue University I was a teaching assistant, holding recitations classes in introductory mechanics and astronomy. I enjoyed considerable freedom in re-organizing the laboratory part of the astronomy course.

These days I have advanced to the level where I can put together whole university courses.

    Wir werden in der ersten Vorlesung den ersten Übungszettel ausgeben. Die Besprechung des Zettels findet dann in den Übungen am Mittwoch den 2.11.2011 um 08:00 oder am Donnerstag den 3.11.2011 um 09:45 Uhr in Raum 2.120 (Pfaffenwaldring 57) statt. Insgesamt wird es im Laufe des Semesters 7 Übungszettel mit Übungen im zwei Wochen Rhythmus geben.

    Die Studenten können 3 unterschiedliche Varianten des Wahlmoduls Optik belegen. Grundbestandsteil sind jeweils die beiden Wahlfach-Vorlesungen (Lineare Optik und Halbleiter-Quantenoptik). Im Falle des Masters muss zusätzlich ein Praktikum im WS besucht werden. Wer das Wahlmodul Optik als Schwerpunktmodul wählt muss zusätzlich die Spezialvorlesung Nichtlineare Optik im SS besuchen.
